Hugo joined MVM in 2005. Before joining MVM, he qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG. Hugo has a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from Oxford University.

Hugo is a member of the boards of SkyCell AG and ProVerum Limited, and a board observer at Neurent Medical Limited.

He was previously a director of Nalu Medical, Inc (acquired by Boston Scientific), Gynesonics, Inc (acquired by Hologic), Vertos Medical, Inc (acquired by Stryker), Horizon Discovery Limited (LSE: HZD, acquired by PerkinElmer), Accuvein, Inc, eZono AG and Vantia Limited, and he led MVM’s investment into BioVex Limited (acquired by Amgen).
